The Erik Walther GmbH & Co. KG is a German oil company based in Schweinfurt .
history
Erik Walther opened his first petrol station in Gera in 1934 . After fleeing after the Second World War , a new beginning was started in Schweinfurt in 1953. After the opening of the new Schweinfurt port on the Main in 1963, the company settled there on the northern quay.
In 1988 the founder Erik Walther retired from the management and passed the company on to the next generation. His son-in-law Ernst Linsner becomes managing director. Erik Walther died on February 20, 2003 at the age of 90. Erik Linsner will succeed his father Ernst Linsner on October 1, 2006. With effect from June 1, 2012, Jürgen Rehl and Jürgen Lobig will be appointed managing directors. The two long-term employees take over the management from co-partner Antje Fücks, who was temporarily responsible from February 1 to May 31, 2012.
Tank farm
In Schweinfurt and Aschaffenburg there are currently two tank storage facilities and five additional external storage facilities. These would be Gera, Neuhaus , Naila , Kulmbach and Sendelbach . The facilities in Schweinfurt and Aschaffenburg were constantly expanded.
Inland shipping
The company now owns three motor tankers (TMS) and one tanker push barge (TSL): TMS Thuringia in push association with TSL Marie Luise , TMS Friedrich Rückert and TMS Erik Walther . Over the Rhine-Main-route the ships delivering fuel from the German domestic refineries and from the ARA inland ports A ntwerpen , R otterdam and A msterdam in the two high fuel depot.

Gas stations
The company operates around 80 of its own filling stations and two motorway filling stations (as of 2016) in Bavaria , Hesse , Thuringia and Baden-Württemberg . These are designed in the colors of the Federal Association of Independent Petrol Stations and are connected to it. All carry a "Walther" and offer their own fuels and mineral oils as well as LPG and LNG to.
