Erkki Juhani Latvala (born August 20, 1965 in Teuva ) is a former Finnish biathlete .

Erkki Latvala started for Kauhajoen Karhu . He made his World Cup debut at the pre-Olympic competitions in Lillehammer in 1993 and, as seventh of an individual, not only immediately won World Cup points, but also immediately achieved a top ten placement. It also remained the best World Cup result in Latvala's career. The first career highlight was the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, where the Finn 54th of the sprint and, together with Harri Eloranta , Timo Seppälä and Vesa Hietalahti as the starting runner of the season, finished fifth. In 1995 Latvala took part in the World Championships in Antholz , where he was 34th of the sprint and tenth in relay with Ville Räikkönen , Harri Eloranta and Vesa Hietalahti. The last major international event was the 1996 World Championships in Ruhpolding . Latvala was 31st in the individual and sixth in the relay race with Vesa Hietalahti, Ville Räikkönen and Paavo Puurunen . After the 1996/97 season , he ended his international career. Nationally he won silver with the team in 1998 .
