Erna Pfeiffer

Erna Pfeiffer (born May 10, 1953 in Graz ) is an Austrian Romance studies , university lecturer, retired associate professor and translator .

academic career

Erna Pfeiffer studied law at the University of Graz from 1971 to 1972 and began studying Spanish in 1971 and Russian in 1972 at its institute for translation and interpreting training. She completed a doctorate in Romance Philology (Spanish / Portuguese) and Slavic Studies (Russian) in 1982 with a doctorate in philosophy. In 1996 he completed his habilitation in Hispanic Studies at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz with the text Territorium Frau: Body experience as a cognitive process in texts by contemporary Latin American authors . Since 1997 she has been appointed associate professor and headed the Institute for Romance Studies at the University of Graz from 2003 to 2005. From 2009 she was chairwoman of the curriculum commission for Romance studies at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz until 2010, afterwards its deputy chairwoman until 2012. She retired in August 2014.
