Erna Schweigl (born January 25, 1981 in Meran ) is a former Italian natural track tobogganist . She won one race in the World Cup and a total of four medals at international junior championships.

Career

Schweigl successfully participated in Junior World and European Championships in 1996 and from 1998 to 2001 . At the Junior European Championships in 1996 and the Junior World Championships in 1999 , she won the silver medal and at the Junior European Championships in 2000 and 2001 twice the bronze medal.

As early as 1997, she was also at the start of World and European Championships in the general class and mostly achieved placements in the front midfield. Both at the European Championships in 1997 and 1999 and at the World Cup in 2000 , she achieved sixth place each, while she came only eleventh at the 1998 World Cup .

In World Cup races Schweigl was able to place in the top five several times, but top results were largely absent - with one exception: On January 6, 1999, the then 17-year-old surprisingly won the World Cup race in Tiers ahead of her teammates Sonja Steinacher and Christa Gietl . In the overall World Cup of the 1998/1999 season , she reached fourth place. Schweigl drove her last World Cup race on January 14, 2001. After the 2000/2001 season, she only took part in a few races in the Intercontinental Cup before she withdrew completely from international racing.
