Ernest Léger

Ernest Léger (born February 27, 1944 in Haute-Aboujagane ) is Old Archbishop of Moncton .

Life

Ernest Léger was ordained a priest on March 11, 1968 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Moncton on November 27, 1996 . The Archbishop Emeritus of Moncton, Donat Chiasson , donated him episcopal ordination on January 29 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Joseph Edward Troy , Bishop of Saint John, New Brunswick , and André Richard CSC , Bishop of Bathurst .

He resigned from his office on March 16, 2002.
