The umbrella association Renewable Energy Austria , abbreviated EEÖ, represents the interests of the sector associations for renewable energy in Austria . EEÖ supports the concerns of all renewable energy sources ( solar energy and photovoltaics , solid ( wood ), liquid ( biodiesel , bioethanol ) and gaseous ( biogas ) biomass as well as wind energy and hydropower ).

goals and tasks

The association is committed to switching to 100% renewable energies. The primary goal of the association is to implement the energy transition in the medium term in the areas of heat, electricity and mobility . The association works in this regard through publications, public relations and lobbying .

In addition, the association sees itself as an information and advice center for all questions relating to energy policy and environmental policy and takes part in the opinion-forming process. In the opinion of the association, the promotion of renewable energy sources in particular should contribute to strengthening a crisis-proof energy supply .

In working groups, the association develops specific proposals and measures in the areas of heat, electricity and mobility. The Climate Protection Act passed in 2011 provides for a climate protection advisory board of which the EEÖ association is a member. The association works actively in the working groups on the further development and implementation of the Austrian energy strategy.
