Michael Raeder (born September 7, 1962 in Nienburg / Weser ) is a German musician, composer / lyricist and music producer .

Life

Michael Raeder comes from a musical family. He is a great-great-grandson of the hymn poet Johann Friedrich Raeder . His passion for music developed in early childhood when he found an accordion in the attic. Learning self-taught , Raeder now masters numerous musical instruments. Michael Raeder is married, has two children and lives in Wietzen .

First steps

After first public appearances from 1976 through regional band participation (accordion, bass guitar, vocals) Raeder founded the formation “Granny Smith” in 1978 as a guitarist and singer. The management by Jürgen Sarnhof and the Neumann & Jansen concert directorate gave the quartet appearances under the name "Rockfever". In 1984 he performed with the guitar duo "Zeitweise". Music recordings in his first own recording studio opened up new possibilities for him to express himself artistically.

Joshua Project

In 1993 Michael Raeder retired to his own studio in order to devote himself only to his musical ideas. This resulted in the formation "Joshua Project" in the same year. The music style of this group was straightforward, folk-inspired songwriter rock, influenced by art rock with British influences. This project resulted in changing line-ups from 1995 onwards, seven albums and two video productions, among others in collaboration with Ariola Sonopress and Berola-Film. In 1997 Raeder signed an exclusive artist contract and a music publishing contract with subsequent production of the single You . The live album Love at Last - Unplugged Edition was released on Savannah Records in the same year . In 2000 a nationwide tour followed.

In his stage program, the song poet mainly uses the English language and interprets his songs and ballads on the acoustic guitar.

Also in 2009 he produced and released the touring album SOLO . The single Most of All made it onto the playlists of numerous radio stations, followed by studio visits, interviews and CD reviews - among others at MDR and PRIDE1.

Reviews

"... one of the best that the German music market currently has to offer."

"... how art comes from skill."

“... timeless elements meet the zeitgeist. Sensitive vocal melodies invite you to hum along. Created for the cozy pub atmosphere as well as for an arena full of burning lighters ... ... Raeder's voice becomes an appeal to the ears, the wistful pathetic impact as a gentle touch on the mind. "
