Ernst August von Meding (civil servant)

Ernst August von Meding (born October 23, 1855 in Boennigsen , Kingdom of Hanover , † March 31, 1928 in Hanover ) was a German civil servant.

Life

Ernst August von Meding studied at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and became active in the Corps Bremensia in 1879 . He was initially a government official in the Kingdom of Hanover and came to Greiz in 1886 as the government and consistory secretary of the Principality of Reuss older line . In 1896 he became chamberlain to Prince Heinrich XXII. From 1901 to the November Revolution of 1918 as Prime Minister and Consistorial President of the Principality's government. 1904 he was appointed as Privy Councilor with the title of excellence characterized . He was head of government under Heinrich XXII., Heinrich XIV. JL and Heinrich XXVII. jL

He was the last bearer of the hereditary title of Hereditary Marshal of Lüneburg in his family .
