Ernst Brunk

Ernst Brunk (born March 20, 1883 in Bromberg ; † August 30, 1942 in Bonn ) was a German industrialist and politician ( DNVP ).

Life

Ernst Brunk was born the son of a privy councilor. After graduating from high school in 1901, he embarked on an officer career in the Prussian Army . He became a professional soldier with the 2nd Rhenish Field Artillery Regiment No. 23 in Koblenz , took part in the First World War and was deployed on the Western Front from 1914 . Due to an injury, he retired from the army in 1915 as a Royal Prussian captain.

In January 1916, Brunk moved to the Rhenish-Westphalian heavy industry and later became a member of the board of Gelsenkirchener Bergwerks-AG (GBAG). In the early 1930s he worked as an industrialist in Berlin-Zehlendorf . In addition, he belonged to numerous business associations and clubs and was a member of the supervisory board of various stock corporations.

Brunk was a member of the Prussian state parliament from 1921 to 1932 . In the Reichstag election in November 1932 , he was elected to the German Reichstag , of which he was a member until 1933.

Ernst Brunk was married to Ida Massen.
