Ernst Georgi (politician)

Ernst Moritz Friedrich Georgi (born July 25, 1895 in Stuttgart ; † May 29, 1983 ) was a German doctor and politician ( CDU ) and a former member of the state constituent assembly , a forerunner of the Hessian state parliament .

Ernst Georgi studied medicine at the Universities of Marburg and Frankfurt am Main after attending secondary and secondary school in Offenbach am Main . He completed his studies with a doctorate. med. and worked as a doctor. From 1923 he was the chief medical officer of the diaconal homes in Niederramstädter and from 1926 medical director of the Burgwald drinking sanctuary. As a part-time job, he gives lectures on social hygiene and sex education. He had been a member of the Confessing Church since 1933 and was dismissed from work as a prison doctor in 1944 because of his anti-Nazi attitude.

In October 1944 Georgi was called up to work as a works and camp doctor at the Blankenburg Air Force Construction Office (Harz) . According to his own statements, he was placed under the Todt Organization on March 1, 1945, together with "Jewish mongrel doctors" (see Jüdischer Mischling ) .

From 1928 to 1933 he was a member and employee of the Christian Social People's Service . In 1945 he became a co-founder of the CDU in Darmstadt . In the CDU he was district association chairman and provisional district association chairman of the CDU Darmstadt. For his party he was a member of the local council and district councilor and from July 15, 1946 to November 30, 1946 a member of the state assembly of Greater Hesse that advised the constitution.
