Ernst Körting junior

Ernst Körting junior (* 21st August 1869 ; † 15. November 1932 ) was a German mechanical engineering - engineering and engines - designer of the company Körting AG in Hannover .

Life

Ernst Körting junior was a member of the Körting family , son of Berthold Körting , a nephew of the mechanical engineer, industrialist and co-founder of Körting Hannover AG Ernst Körting .

After Ernst Körting jun. in 1907 an engine for the Wright brothers had constructed, he developed from 1907 to 1909 an eight-cylinder - V engine with 71 to 85 horsepower for military - Zeppelins . In 1909 , an airship equipped with a Körting engine achieved the record of 13 hours and a speed record of 72 km / h.

Körting also successfully developed engines for submarines . In 1904 he became a member of the executive board of Körting AG.

Ernst Körting junior was commemorated in the Körting family grave marked by a grave stele in the New St. Nikolai Cemetery in the northern part of Hanover. His more detailed dates of birth and death can be read in an inscription on a family grave in the Engesohde city cemetery .
