Ernst Klaar

Ernst Klaar (born December 25, 1861 in Chemnitz , † October 13, 1920 in Klotzsche near Dresden) was a German writer .

Life

Klaar was born in Chemnitz and spent his childhood in Kappel , where he attended the village school. He trained as a typesetter in Chemnitz and then went on trips through Europe. He visited Switzerland , Denmark and Luxembourg and lived in Dresden from 1884. Here he first worked as a typesetter. He gave up his profession in 1888, joined the SPD and started working as a journalist in 1888. He wrote for socialist newspapers and published articles in the Dresdner Volkszeitung, among others . Together with Heinrich von Reder and Otto Erich Hartleben , he was one of the employees of the satirical magazine Der Süddeutsche Postillion , which was published by Eduard Fuchs . The magazine published a number of aphorisms and poems. From 1910 on, Klaar also wrote for Wahren Jakob , a rather reformist magazine.

In addition, he published socialist poems, calculated in his volume of poetry Knute und Bombe with tsarist conditions and published Turner and mass songs. He acted as co-editor of the poetry volumes May 1st in the mirror of poetry (1891) and From the class struggle (1894). In 1905 Klaar took up his permanent residence in Dresden. He took an active part in the First World War and spent the last years of his life in Klotzsche. He died here in 1920 at the age of 58 and was buried in the old Klotzsche cemetery.
