Origin and family

Ernst Konstantin von Droste zu Hülshoff came from the Westphalian noble family Droste zu Hülshoff , one of the oldest and most important in Westphalia. He was the son of Heinrich Johann I Droste zu Hülshoff and his wife Anna Mechtild von Lipperheide zu Ihorst (1684–1710, former canon of Nottuln Abbey ). His siblings were

In 1727 Ernst Konstantin received a cathedral praise in Osnabrück through papal approval . He studied in Orléans and was procurator there. In 1730 he took over the hereditary vicarie donated by Rudolph von der Tinnen in the Servatikirche Münster . On January 21, 1754, Ernst Konstantin was sworn to knighthood in Münster and that same year became guardian of the children of his late brother Heinrich Wilhelm. On November 13, 1755 , he renounced his benefice in favor of his eponymous nephew Ernst Constantin . He died in the cathedral mechanics in Osnabrück and was buried in the cathedral.
