Ernst Kunkel (politician, 1924)

Ernst Kunkel (born November 26, 1924 in Höchst am Main ; † March 7, 1963 in Nieder-Saulheim ) was a German teacher and politician ( CDU ).

Life

After attending elementary school and graduating from secondary school in Mainz , Kunkel was drafted into military service and participated in World War II as a soldier from 1942 to 1945 , most recently as a lieutenant. Since he had joined the NSDAP in 1942 , he had to answer in an arbitration chamber proceedings after the end of the war . The Neustadt Central Judicial Chamber closed the proceedings against him on May 16, 1946, but imposed a 2-year ban on advancement.

Kunkel completed a degree in education and psychology at the University of Mainz and the Bad Neuenahr Education Academy . In 1947 he passed the first teacher examination and in 1949 he finished his studies with the state examination . He then took up a job as a teacher.

In Alzey, Kunkel participated in the founding of the district association of the CDU (1952) and the district association of the Junge Union (1953). In 1954 he was elected chairman of the JU Alzey. From 1958 to 1963 he acted as managing director of the CDU district association Rheinhessen.

Kunkel was a council member in Nieder-Saulheim and from 1956 a council member in the Alzey district . He was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from October 3, 1957, when he moved up on the CDU state list for the resigned MP Josef Schlick , until his death . In the state elections in 1959 , he moved into parliament via a list. From 1957 to 1959 he was a member of the budget and finance committee, the cultural policy committee and the wine and wine industry committee, from 1957 to 1963 a member of the petitions committee. Since he died shortly before the end of the fourth legislative term, no member of parliament took his place.
