Ernst Ludwig Ostermayer
Ernst Ludwig Ostermayer (born December 3, 1868 in Weilheim an der Teck , † May 19, 1918 on the Western Front) was a German portrait and horse painter and landscape photographer.
Ostermayer studied painting at the Grand Ducal Badische Kunstschule Karlsruhe and continued his studies at the Académie Julian in Paris , he also studied with Franz Roubaud in Munich and Robert von Haug in Stuttgart .
Ostermeyer was based in Munich from 1903 and worked as a portrait and horse painter as well as landscape photographer. He was also known as a writer. During the First World War he worked as a war painter and fell on the Western Front.
