Ernst Rösch

Ernst Friedrich Rösch (born September 14, 1867 in Röttlerweiler ; † April 8, 1953 in Lörrach ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Rösch was born the son of a businessman. After attending primary school in Haagen , he completed an apprenticeship in typesetter in Schopfheim from 1882 to 1886 . After completing his training, he first went hiking . He became a union member, joined the Book Printers ' Association in 1890 and was later a member of the board. From 1893 he worked as a typesetter at Typografia in Basel . In addition, from November 1904 to 1912 he worked as an editor and managing director at the Arbeiterzeitung in Lörrach.

Rösch joined the SPD in 1893 and was for a long time a member of the board of the Loerrach Social Democrats. From 1905 to 1918 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly in the Grand Duchy of Baden . In the Reichstag election in January 1912 , he ran unsuccessfully for the Reichstag , and in the election to the German National Assembly in 1919, he won no mandate.

In January 1919 Rösch was elected to the constitutional state assembly of the Republic of Baden , in which he held the office of secretary until October 1919. Afterwards he was a member of the state parliament of the Republic of Baden until 1925 and again from 1929 to 1933 .

After the National Socialists came to power , Rösch was briefly arrested. After 1945 he participated in the re-establishment of the SPD Lörrach.

Honors

In 1948 Rösch was granted honorary citizenship of the then still independent community of Haagen (today part of the city of Lörrach), which honored his commitment to the preservation of the Rötteln castle ruins .
