Ernst Roedelius

Ernst Roedelius (born August 3, 1882 in Hamburg ; † November 1, 1971 ibid) was a German surgeon and urologist in Hamburg.

Life

Roedelius studied medicine at the Georg-August University in Göttingen and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In Göttingen he became a member of the Corps Hercynia. His doctorate took place in Göttingen in 1908. In 1920 he completed his habilitation at the University of Hamburg under Hermann Kümmell . In 1923 he was appointed associate professor at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf . There he headed the II. Surgical Department, which was moved to the AK Eilbek in 1925. In his publications he mainly devoted himself to urology . In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler . Roedelius was SS-Obersturmführer . The Association of Northwest German Surgeons made him an honorary member.
