Ernst Rudolf Schepp

Ernst Rudolf Schepp (born October 5, 1857 in Wiesbaden , † March 13, 1901 in Bonn ) was a district administrator in the district of Siegen .

Schepp's father, Friedrich Wilhelm Schepp (1807–1874), was a ducal member of the Nassau government and 1865/66 president of the court and appeal court in Wiesbaden.

Ernst Rudolf Schepp attended high school in Karlsruhe. After graduating from high school in 1876, he studied law in Marburg, Leipzig and Berlin. From 1880 he was a court trainee, then from 1883 government trainee with the government of Kassel and since 1886 government assessor in Schleswig and Trier.

From 1890 Schepp held the office of district administrator in the Neuhaus an der Oste district . From 1894 to 1900 he was district administrator in Siegen. During this period he promoted, among others, the establishment of twelve Patriotic women's associations in the year 1895. 1900 he became a Councilor to the Prefect in Muenster.

Schepp was married to Therese Weismann (1869–1927), a daughter of the biologist August Weismann (1834–1914). His son Helmuth Schepp (1894–1982) was a sculptor in Aachen and taught as a professor for sculpture at the RWTH Aachen . His son Johannes Schepp also works as a sculptor and painter in Borgholzhausen .
