Ernst Samuel Jakob Borchward (born February 27, 1717 in Berlin ; † July 10, 1776 ) was a German hymn poet .

Life

Ernst Samuel Jakob Borchward, born on February 27, 1717 in Berlin, was a Prussian councilor and legation councilor and resident of Ansbach and Bayreuth . Three of his hymns were taken up by Johann Samuel Diterich , with whom he was friends, in his hymnal songs for public worship , published in 1765 . Borchward died on July 10, 1776 at the age of 59.
