Ernst Schaible

Ernst Edler von Schaible (born October 18, 1868 in Grafenegg , Lower Austria ; † February 6, 1956 in Vienna ) was an Austrian Lieutenant Field Marshal and in 1916 briefly Imperial and Royal Railway Minister of the Austrian half of Austria-Hungary .

Schaible attended elementary school and secondary school in Krems an der Donau and the pioneer cadet school in Hainburg an der Donau .

In August 1914, Schaible was colonel and commander of the railway regiment of the Austro-Hungarian Transport Troop Brigade . He was promoted to major general on May 1, 1915 (rank date June 8, 1915) .
