Ernst Waldburger

Ernst Waldburger (born August 3, 1875 in Schwamendingen , † April 25, 1954 in St. Gallen ; resident in Bühler ) was a Swiss banker .

Life

Ernst Waldburger was the son of pastor Albert Waldburger and Lina Knüppel. His first wife was Frida Klauser. In 1918 he married Martha Asper.

From 1891 to 1894 he was a student at the commercial department of the Technikum Winterthur , from 1894 to 1896 he studied at the Institut Supérieur de Commerce in Antwerp and later he obtained a licentiate in social sciences in Paris . From 1898 to 1904 he was a teacher at the cantonal commercial school in Zurich . From 1904 he worked for the Schweizerische Kreditanstalt , from 1913 to 1939 he was director of the St. Gallen branch. He was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Roco in Rorschach and Christian Hausmann in St. Gallen. From 1927 to 1945 he was President of the University Council of St. Gallen University . He was also President of the St. Gallen Bank Association.

In the Loge Concordia , he worked as St. Gallen Masonic active. From 1942 to 1947 he was Deputy Grand Master of the Swiss Grand Lodge Alpina (SGLA).
