Ernst Wilhelm Traugott Eckardt

Ernst Wilhelm Traugott Eckardt (born October 22, 1819 in Weißenborn , † February 26, 1892 in Grimma ) was a German district school inspector, teacher and school director.

Life

Eckardt attended high school in the Saxon mountain town of Freiberg from 1833 and the University of Leipzig from 1841 . From 1845 he worked as a private tutor and in 1851 he became the first girls' teacher at the community school in Roßwein .

Three years later, in 1854, he was appointed director of the municipal schools in Roßwein. In 1859 Eckardt switched to the Zschopau community school as director . In 1863 he took over the post of director of the general citizen school in the Schönburg town of Glauchau , and in 1871 he changed as director of the higher citizen school there.

From 1874 to 1891 Eckardt was the first district school inspector of the Grimma district since this office was introduced in the Kingdom of Saxony . The following year he died in Grimma.
