Erwin Lorant

Erwin Lorant (born July 16, 1962 in Bern ) is a Swiss trumpeter .

Life

Lorant is a student of Horst Fischer and Bob Lanese and Rudi Lodenkemper . At the age of 11 he appeared for the first time with the jazz circle of the Marl Music School. Later he studied in Germany with Hanne Wilfert and Jiggs Whigham and at the conservatory in Bern with René Schmidhäusler (he also completed private studies with Don Jacoby and Gary Grant in the USA). Lorant already played as a temporary worker in the municipal theater, in the theater and in the Radio Ensemble Bern during his studies. At the age of 19 he was a temporary assistant at the Pepe Lienhard orchestra , and from 1986 to 1995 he had a permanent position as the first trumpeter. Erwin Lorant has worked with many well-known musicians (e.g. Udo Jürgens , Jennifer Rush , Montserrat Caballé , Joe Cocker , Roy Black , Karel Gott , Hazy Osterwald , Ute Lemper , Paul Kuhn , Manhattan Transfer , Clark Terry and others).
