Erwin Rieger
Erwin Rieger (born September 13, 1889 in Vienna , † November 25, 1940 in Tunis ) was an Austrian writer and translator.
Life
From 1907 to 1913 he studied German and Romance languages in Vienna, Heidelberg and Bonn and was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD.
He worked as a librarian, journalist and writer. In 1918 he met Stefan Zweig in Switzerland , whom he helped with translation and research work. In 1938 he emigrated to France and in the same year to Tunisia .
