Thomas Hamann
Thomas Hamann (* 1955 in Stuttgart ) is a German contemporary artist and book author .
Thomas Hamann studied art and design at the FH Aachen from 1975 and painting at the University of Fine Arts in Maastricht from 1979 . This was followed by longer stays in various African countries, such as Cameroon , whose cultural influences can also be seen in his art. Since 1984 he has been working as a freelance artist internationally and has had several exhibitions since then. In 1990, Hamann's first book “Forgotten Worlds” was presented at the Frankfurt Book Fair , to which he wrote three more to be continued.
Hamann's artistic focus is on abstract etching . He produces his graphics, which for the most part have simple and original features from the simple world of signs and forms, on structured printing plates .
Thomas Hamann and Johanna Tiefenbeck, initiated shaman, founded the Turya Academy in Aachen in 1995 . There they offer various seminars on self-knowledge, healing and awareness: the life school (a 2-year training course), silent retreat, vision search , Ho'oponopono and Enneagram .
