The Erzherzog-Johann-Klause was a dam on the Brandenberger Ache and is now a restaurant in Brandenberg in Tyrol , near the Bavarian border. It is located in a mountain valley between the Brandenberg Alps in the south and the Schlierseer mountains in the north at an altitude of 814  m above sea level. A. near the mouth of the Bairache in the Brandenberger Ache.

The Klause zur Holztrift , named after Johann von Austria , was built in 1833 as a replacement for the Kaiserklause further north in the Valepp using a wooden longwall construction. In 1934/1935 it was reinforced by the use of reinforced concrete pillars. After the replacement of wooden parts became necessary again, it was expanded in 1952/1953 for a storage height of 14 meters. In 1966 it was taken out of service. How they work is documented in an exhibition room in the Museum of Tyrolean Farms in Kramsach .

From Germany the Erzherzog-Johann-Klause can only be reached on foot or by mountain bike from the Valepp or from Wildbad Kreuth through the Langenau. A forest road leads from the south from Brandenberg to the Klause. There are several outbuildings around the restaurant as well as the Hubertus chapel, which is completely clad with shingles on the slope.

In autumn 2016, the tenant of the restaurant returned the building to the Austrian Federal Forests , as no agreement could be reached on a renovation. The restaurant has since been closed for an indefinite period.

From June 2017, the former restaurant was run as an 'emergency filling station' by the Arbeitsmanufaktur SchwarzWeiss association in Kufstein; in 2018 and 2019 there was only one emergency operation.

Since May 2020 the restaurant has been open again with new tenants.
