Erzsébet Heirits

Erzsébet Heirits - after marriage Erzsébet Jurik - (born November 7, 1938 in Cluj-Napoca ) is a former Hungarian table tennis player who was one of the best in Europe in the 1960s and won the European Championship twice.

National successes

Erzsébet Heirits played from 1952 with the Hungarian champions of 1954 Vasas Budapest , switched to Ferencváros Budapest and then to Budapest Vörös Meteor SK in the 1957/58 season , with which they won the national championship in 1959. In 1960 she returned to Ferencváros Budapest, with whose women's team she was three times in a row Hungarian champions from 1965 to 1967.

At the national individual championships she won four times in doubles, namely in 1962 Imréné Kerekes, 1963 and 1965 with Éva Kóczián and 1968 with Beatrix Kisházi . In 1982 she received her trainer license at Semmelweis University in Budapest.

International success

From 1963 to 1969, Erzsébet Heirits was nominated for all four world championships . In 1963 and 1967 she won bronze with the Hungarian women's team. In 1967 she also reached the semi-finals in doubles with Éva Kóczián .

In 1958 , 1964 , 1966 and 1968 Heirits took part in European championships . In 1964 she was second behind Éva Földy in the individual , the mixed with János Faházi won bronze and in the team competition she took silver. Two years later she was European champion in doubles with Éva Kóczián and with the team. At the International German Championships, she won in 1962/63 in mixed with Zoltán Berczik .

In the ITTF world rankings , she was ranked seventh in mid-1967. After 1969, it no longer appeared internationally.
