The Eschbach is an approximately 13 km long, right-hand or western tributary of the Siede in the river system of the Weser . It flows exclusively in the southern area of the Diepholz district ( Lower Saxony , Germany ).

The source of the Eschbach is located south of Affinghausen ( joint municipality Schwaförden ). From there it flows in a southerly direction, takes on the Sudwalder Graben and the Hingstbach , flows through Mellinghausen ( Samtgemeinde Siedenburg ) and flows into the Siede at Sieden - directly on the federal highway 214 .
history
During the major fire in a barn in Ohlendorf in September 1967, six neighboring volunteer fire brigades had to fetch the water with a B-hose line from Eschbach, 780 m away. The barn burned down completely, but the adjacent mill could be saved.
Naming
In Mellinghausen (in the district of Ohlendorf) there has been the Eschbachtal theater group since 1983 . Every year there is a summer theater program in the Low German language on the open-air stage in Ohlendorf .
