Eseosa Aigbogun (born May 23, 1993 in Zurich ) is a Swiss- Nigerian soccer player .

Career

society

Aigbogun played for FC Dietikon in her youth. In February 2009 she moved to the reigning Swiss champions FC Zurich Women . After Zurich only finished fourth in the 2010/11 season, she moved to FC Basel and reached the final of the Swiss Women's Cup in 2013, 2014 and 2015, but was only able to win the cup in 2014. In summer 2016 she moved to the 1st FFC Turbine Potsdam .

Aigbogun left Turbine Potsdam for the 2018/19 season; since then it has been wearing the colors of the French first division partner Paris FC .

National team

In 2011 she qualified with the U-19 team for the U-19 European Championship and reached the semi-finals with the team, where she failed against the eventual winner Germany , but qualified for the U-20 World Cup. In August 2012, she then took part with the Swiss U-20 women's national team at the U-20 World Cup in Japan , where she was used in three games and in the 1: 2 in the first group game against New Zealand in the 90th minute scored the only tournament goal for the Swiss women. Switzerland then dropped out as the bottom of the group.

On September 21, 2013, she came on as a substitute in the 82nd minute of the World Cup qualifier against Serbia for her first international match in the Swiss national women's football team . After that she was regularly in the squad, but only played over 90 minutes in the game against Portugal on January 16, 2014 . Otherwise it stayed with short assignments. She scored her two only goals so far in the 2-1 win against New Zealand in the Cyprus Cup 2014 on March 7, 2014. In summer 2014 she was able to qualify for the 2015 World Cup with the national team for the first time . In May 2015 she was nominated for the World Cup squad. At the World Cup she was used in the three group matches and scored the goal to make it 2-0 in the 10-1 win over Ecuador.

After the World Cup, the Swiss women qualified for the European Championship finals for the first time. She was used in six qualifying games. In the final round, she was used in the three group matches, after which the Swiss were eliminated.

In qualifying for the 2019 World Cup , it was only not used once. Ultimately, they failed in the playoffs to European champions Netherlands.
