Eser Akbaba

Eser Akbaba (born May 11, 1979 in Vienna , previously married Eser Ari-Akbaba ) is an Austrian television presenter of Turkish-Kurdish descent. She became known as the presenter of the weather broadcast of the ORF regional studio Vienna .

Life

Ari-Akbaba was born as the daughter of Turkish guest workers from Eastern Anatolia and grew up in Vienna with the three native languages Turkish , Kurdish and German . After high school she studied journalism and graduated in 2006 with a Magistra. From 2007 to 2010 she was a founding member of the Viennese city magazine das biber . During a panel discussion she got to know Brigitte Handlos , the head of the ORF chronicle department at the time, and was asked to act as a moderator. From 2009 Ari-Akbaba moderated the Vienna-Today-Weather on ORF. Two years later, in 2011, she presented Vienna Today for the first time - Haber Magazine, a Turkish-language version of the news program Vienna Today . Since March 2013 she has been presenting the ZIB 20 Wetter on ORF eins , alternating with Sigi Fink .

From March to April 2017, Ari-Akbaba was a candidate for the 11th season of the ORF dance show  Dancing Stars . In the third week of dance, Akbaba and their professional dance partner Danilo Campisi were the first to leave the show.

Akbaba does volunteer work in social projects. Among other things, she is the deputy chairwoman of the Nubigena Wolkenkind association, which campaigns for refugees. In 2014, the association received the “Wiener-Mut” special award for this commitment. She is also an ambassador in the projektXchange of the Austrian Red Cross .

From 2015 to 2017 she was a limited partner in WaffelAri KG of her husband Serkan Ari, from whom she divorced in November 2017. She has been performing under her original name since the divorce.
