The Esop ridge ( Russian Эзоп, Хребет Эзо́п ) is a mountain range in the Far East of Russia .
The Esop ridge extends in an east-west direction over a length of 150 km along the border between the Amur Oblast and the Khabarovsk region . The highest point is a nameless summit 2274 m high ( ⊙ ).
In the east of the Esop ridge, the Jam-Alin branches off to the north and the Dusse-Alin to the south. These two neighboring mountain ranges run in a predominantly north-south direction. On the northern slope of the Esopkamms springing Selemdzha River and its tributary Kharga , on the southern slope the Prawaja Bureya and the Niman .
Granite and volcanic rock occur in the mountains .
Larch forests grow in the lower elevations (below 1200 m ) , while mountain tundra and dwarf pine vegetation predominate in higher elevations .
