Churchill Interim Government

The transitional government Churchill ( Churchill caretaker ministry ) was established in the United Kingdom after the end of World War II on May 23, 1945 by Prime Minister Winston Churchill of the Conservative Party formed and dissolved the war Churchill government from.

From the lower house election on July 5, 1945 that went Labor Party of Clement Attlee as the winner, which won 11,557,821 votes (49.7 percent) and won 393 MPs in the House of Commons presented. Churchill's conservative Tories received 8,716,211 votes (36.2 percent) and only had 197 members of the lower house. Thereupon Churchill's interim government was replaced on July 27, 1945 by the Attlee cabinet .
