MacDonald's second government
The second MacDonald government was formed in the United Kingdom on June 8, 1929 by Prime Minister Ramsay MacDonald of the Labor Party , replacing the second Baldwin government . The government consisted exclusively of Labor Party ministers. It was in office until August 25, 1931, after which it was replaced by the first national government. Secretary of Labor Margaret Bondfield was the first woman in the history of the United Kingdom to serve as a minister in government.
