Cabinet major

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John Major was the Conservative Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for the period from November 28, 1990 to May 2, 1997. He succeeded Margaret Thatcher as Chairman of the Conservative Party and as Prime Minister. After he succeeded, he led his party to victory in the general election in 1992 , but lost the general election of May 1, 1997 to the Labor Party , with the Conservative Party receiving the worst electoral losses of the 20th century. Major's successor as Prime Minister was then Tony Blair , who formed the first Labor government after 18 years and four lost elections.
