Townshend Government

The Townshend government existed in the Kingdom of Great Britain from September 17, 1714 to April 12, 1717. It was named after the Secretary of State for the Northern Department Charles Townshend, 2nd Viscount Townshend of the Whig , as the office of Prime Minister at that time did not exist yet.
