National Government III
The National Government III ( Third Government Baldwin ) was in the UK on 7 June 1935 by Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin from the Conservative Party formed. It replaced the second national government (Fourth MacDonald Government) and remained in office until May 28, 1937, after which the fourth national government (First Chamberlain Government) was formed. In addition to the Conservative Party, the government also included ministers from the Labor Party and the National Liberal Party .
In the general election on 14 November 1935 , the members of the House were ( House of Commons ) selected. The Conservative Party won the election, although it suffered heavy losses. But it still achieved a clear absolute majority with 387 out of 615 seats. The Labor Party was able to catch up again after its defeat in 1931, increase its share of the vote and won over 100 constituencies more than in 1931. A multi-party government of the National Government had already been in office since August 1931 ; this model of government was continued after the election. The background was the severe political and economic crises of the time. This was also reflected in the numerous government reshuffles.
