Career

Halvorsen, who competes for the Eidsvold Vaerk Skiklubb, made his international debut at the 2006 FIS Cup in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden . In the first two competitions he was the 14th to collect his first FIS Cup points. A year later he also started in the FIS Cup in Falun , but could not match the results of the previous year. In August 2009 he jumped eighth in the top ten for the first time at the FIS Cup jumping competition in Oberwiesenthal . On December 11th of the same year, Halvorsen was used for the first time in the ski jumping Continental Cup , but in Vikersund he clearly missed his first Continental Cup points as 42nd. Also in Titisee-Neustadt in January he jumped past the points in 37th place and failed in the first round.

At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2010 in Hinterzarten , Halvorsen achieved 43rd place in the individual on the normal hill. At the Norwegian Nordic Ski Championships 2011 he won gold in the team, together with Kim René Elverum Sorsell , Rune Velta and Tom Hilde .

In December 2011 Halvorsen jumped to third place in Notodden and thus achieved a podium for the first time. Then he came back to a Continental Cup in February 2012. With 24th place in Oslo , the Norwegian secured his first points. After he reached another podium just a few days later at the FIS Cup in Sapporo , Halvorsen switched permanently to the Norwegian B-squad and got a secure starting place in the Continental Cup. In August and September he achieved only top 20 placements in this series in Kuopio , Lillehammer and Klingenthal and at the start of the 2012/13 winter season in Lillehammer he was part of the national group in the qualification for jumping in the ski jumping World Cup . As the 42nd, he narrowly failed and thus missed his first World Cup competition. Back in the Continental Cup, he convinced again Rank 11 in Kazakhstan's Almaty .

As a result, Halvorsen often fell short of expectations and so missed the further advance towards the A-team. In December 2014 he again took part in the qualification in Lillehammer, but failed again in the competition.
