The Esque is a river in France that runs in the Normandy region . It rises in the municipality of Cerisy-la-Forêt , in the Forêt de Cerisy nature reserve , drains generally north to northeast, reaches the Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin Regional Nature Park and, after a total of 21 kilometers, flows into the Aure as a left tributary in the municipality of Colombières . On its way, the Esque crosses the departments of Manche and Calvados .
