The Essen Masters (officially Eurocard Open ) is a former German men's tennis tournament . The tournament was part of the Super 9 series on the ATP Tour and was held once in 1995 in Essen as the successor to the Masters tournament in Stockholm . A year later it was replaced by the Masters in Stuttgart . The indoor tournament was played on carpet.
