Esterbrook is a city in Converse County , Wyoming in the United States . It is located approximately 25 miles south of the county town of Douglas on the edge of the Medicine Bow National Forest . Most of the roads to Esterbrook are not paved. In 2007 34 people lived there. There are 102 houses in the village, which are mainly used as holiday homes. There is a church, a restaurant and a small campsite .

Demographics
According to a 2007 survey, 34 people, 15 men and 19 women live in 16 households and 12 families.
history
The place was founded in 1896. At that time there was a mine here, from which copper and lead were extracted. When the deposits were exhausted, most of the population disappeared very quickly from the place. In 1904 the post office was opened in the village, which was closed again in 1954. The namesake of the place is the settler 'Mrs. Esther Cooper ', after whom Esterbrook Creek was named.
Attractions
In the village is the Esterbrook Community Church , built in 1946 , a rustic wooden church in the log cabin style, where many weddings take place in summer. The parish is not denominational . A special feature of this church is the window behind the altar , which offers a view of Laramie Peak, about 16 kilometers away, 3131 meters high . The site is the starting point for hikes to Laramie Peak, the Sunset Ridge Trail, and tours of the Medicine Bow National Forest .
