Esther Katona

Esther Theresia Katona (born April 11, 1982 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a former German basketball player .

career

Katona played for TV Gundelfingen from 1992, and in 1998 the development player, supported by coach Harald Janson , went to USC Freiburg . She was appointed to the selection of the German Basketball Federation in the age ranges U18 and U20 . The 1.68 meter long Katona rose to the USC captaincy. She played her first international A match in 2000. In 2002 she reached the German cup final with Freiburg, but had to admit defeat there. In 2001 Katona tore a cruciate ligament . In September 2005 she took part in the European Championships in Turkeypart. She played a total of 22 international matches for Germany. In 2006 she moved from Freiburg to the second division TSV Viernheim. After completing her university degree in psychology in 2008, she moved to Lübeck .
