Esther Scott

Esther Scott (born April 13, 1953 in Queens , New York City , † February 14, 2020 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress .

Career

Scott began her career in 1986 as a voice actress for the television series The Ewoks and received a minor role in The Night Hawk in 1988 . She made her feature film debut in 1991 in the film Boyz n the Hood . Between 1994 and 1997, Scott starred as a nurse on the television series Melrose Place . From 2000, she took on a leading role as Gladys on The Geena Davis Show , in which she played Geena Davis ' housekeeper. In 2007 she played Glen's grandmother in Transformers , and from 2011 to 2015 she starred in a supporting role in the series Hart of Dixie . In the film The Birth of a Nation , Scott plays a relative of the protagonist in the role of Bridget Turner.
