The Altamira FC was a Mexican football club from the city of Altamira in the state of Tamaulipas .

history

Several hundred young people came to the founding meeting of the association, which is also known as Estudiantes de Altamira . Although this event took place on July 12, 2001, the official formation did not take place until four weeks later on August 9, 2001.

The club began 2001/02 in the third division and later acquired the license to participate in the second-rate Primera División 'A' , from which he, however, was relegated at the end of the 2004/05 season. Between 2005/06 and 2009/10 Altamira played again in the third division Segunda División, but is again represented in the second division Liga de Ascenso in the 2010/11 season .

After an unsuccessful season in Ascenso MX the club was canceled on May 25, 2015 and the franchise Cafetaleros de Tapachula took over their license to continue playing in the league.

The club played its home games at the Estadio Altamira in Altamira . The stadium has a capacity of 9581 people. The sports facility is owned by Enrqiue de Hita Yibale . The sports facility is operated by Desarrollo Urbano del Puerto Industrial de Altamira .
