Etienne-Auguste-Germain Loosdregt OMI (born May 2, 1908 in Saint-Pol-sur-Mer , † November 13, 1980 ) was a French Roman Catholic religious and apostolic vicar of Vientiane .

Life

He joined the Order of the Oblates (OMI) and was ordained a priest on July 16, 1933 .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on March 13, 1952 Vicar Apostolic of Vientiane and Titular Bishop of Amaura . The Apostolic Delegate for Indochina , Antonin-Fernand Drapier OP , donated him episcopal ordination on June 30 of the same year ; Co -consecrators were Louis-Paul Rastouil , Bishop of Limoges , and Pierre Fallaize OMI, Apostolic Coadjutor Vicar of Mackenzie .

He attended every session of the Second Vatican Council . From 1964 to 1978 he was President of the Episcopal Conferences of Laos and Cambodia . On May 22, 1975 he resigned as Apostolic Vicar and was succeeded by Thomas Nantha, who had accompanied him as auxiliary bishop of the particular Church since April 25, 1974 .
