Etienne Ruzette

Etienne Emmanuel Paul Félix Marie Joseph Ghislain Ruzette (born April 21, 1894 in Bruges , † November 13, 1960 in Brussels ) was a Belgian diplomat .

Life

Etienne Ruzette was the son of Bertha Marie Victorine van Caloen de Ba and Alberic Emmanuel Henri Ruzette. He graduated from high school with Graecum and Latinum . In 1914 he enlisted in the Belgian army and was deployed on the Yser and in German East Africa . On December 22, 1919, he entered the foreign service and became an attaché in Prague and Luxembourg . He married Marthe Marie Charlotte Visart de Bocar in Namur in 1921 . On September 30, 1920 he was promoted to second class secretary and on November 25, 1937 to counselor. From 1940 to 1945 he was with the Belgian government in exile in London. From January 30th to May 25th 1945 he was the Belgian ambassador to Mexico. From 1954 to 1958 he was ambassador to Lisbon.
