Euan Robertson
Euan Robertson ( Euan James Robertson; born June 14, 1948 in Lower Hutt , † December 11, 1995 in Auckland ) was a New Zealand obstacle runner .
At the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch in 1974 he was fifth, at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal sixth and fourth at the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Edmonton over 3000 m obstacle.
At the World Cross Country Championships in 1973 in Waregem he came 15th and won bronze with the New Zealand team, in 1975 in Rabat he was fifth and won team gold. In 1977 in Düsseldorf he was sixth. 17th place at the 1979 Cross Country World Championships in Limerick, followed by 58th place at the 1981 Cross Country World Championships in Madrid and 155th place at the 1983 Cross Country World Championships in Gateshead.
He was New Zealand champion three times over 3000 m obstacle (1976, 1978, 1980) and once each over 10,000 m (1979) and in cross country (1980).
At the age of 47, he suffered sudden cardiac death while on a training run on the beach .
