Eugène Bonhôte
Eugène Bonhôte (born July 14, 1857 in Boudry , † February 29, 1924 in Neuchâtel ) was a liberal politician in the Swiss canton of Neuchâtel .
The son of a pastor studied law in Neuchâtel, Tübingen , Berlin , Paris and Leipzig . He graduated in 1882 and worked for two years as the Swiss legation secretary in Paris. In 1885 he opened his own law firm in his hometown . From 1889 to 1898 he was a substitute judge at the district court. Between 1892 and 1919 he was on the Grand Council and from 1912 to 1924 on the National Council .
His most important achievement was the Neuchâtel Code of Civil Procedure, which he wrote. During the First World War , Bonhôte proved to be an opponent of the power of attorney regime.
