Eugène Henri Cauchois
Eugène Henri Cauchois (born February 14, 1850 in Rouen , † October 11, 1911 in Paris ) was a French flower painter.
Eugène Cauchois studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris with Ferdinand Duboc and Alexandre Cabanel and with the flower painter Ernest Quost .
After graduating, he worked as a freelance painter of flower still lifes. He only rarely painted landscapes. He signed his pictures with the name of the month in which he created them.
He spent the period from 1878 to 1879 in Brussels .
At the end of his life, Eugène Cauchois began decorative painting of large-format floral compositions, a. a. of flowers of the four seasons in the girls' school in the 7th arrondissement.
His Paris studio was at 32 rue des Dames in the 17th arrondissement, near the studio of Marcellin Desboutin (1823-1902).
Eugène Cauchois made his debut in 1874 at the Salon de Paris and showed his works in the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français , where he became a member in 1890, in 1881, 1890, 1898 (3rd class medal), 1904 (2nd class medal) and 1908 .
