Eugene Buss

Eugen Buß (born August 12, 1943 in Brunsbüttelkoog ) is a German sociologist . He is professor emeritus for sociology , empirical social research and economic sociology at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1963 at the Kieler Gelehreenschule (KGS), Buß first studied archeology , later sociology and economics at the universities of Berlin , Kiel and Basel , where he was awarded a Dr. phil. received his doctorate. From 1971 to 1979 he worked for the Dutch electronics group Philips and then in a management consultancy. In 1981 Buß completed his habilitation with Helge Pross at the University of Siegen . Since 1987 he has been Professor of Sociology at the University of Hohenheim.

His research interests are primarily issues relating to corporate culture , the corporate communications , for reputation management , to changing values, on issues of corporate identity and intercultural communication . With his publications and numerous consulting projects in companies and institutions, Buß has made a significant contribution to the development of management sociology.

His compendium for scientific work in sociology experienced four revised editions between 1979 (co-author: Martina Schöps) and 1994 (co-authors: Martina Schöps and Ulrike Fink).

Act

Since 2004 he has been a permanent visiting professor at the Culture Academy in Riga , Latvia in the course of media and culture management for the subjects of cultural sociology and intercultural communication, lecturer at the Administration and Business Academy (VWA) Baden-Württemberg, scientific chairman of the advisory board of the Identity Foundation in Düsseldorf , Member of the Development Service and Humanitarian Aid Committee of the Evangelical Work for Diakonia and Development e. V.
