Eugene Jacobs

Eugen Jacobs (born December 2, 1887 in Schwerin ; † in the 20th century) was a CDU politician and member of the state parliament in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Life

Eugen Jacobs attended middle school and learned the upholstery and wallpapering trade from 1902 to 1905 . After working as an assistant in Berlin , Dresden , Munich , Karlsruhe , Hamburg and Neustrelitz , Jacobs passed the master's examination in 1913 and settled in Schwerin . From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War. Politically, Jacobs had already joined the Free People's Party in 1910 . In 1918 he became a member of the DDP , was active in the Schwerin local executive committee and from 1928 had a mandate in the Schwerin city council.

In July 1945 Jacobs was one of the founding circle of the CDU regional association Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Eugen Jacobs was a member of the state executive committee and was responsible for elections and meetings as committee chairman. After the municipal and state elections, he received political mandates for the city council of Schwerin and the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . At the state party conference in 1948, Jacobs was elected deputy state chairman after the Soviet occupation forces prevented the re-election of the previous incumbent Hans Krukenmeyer. Jacobs managed the publishing house "Der Demokratie" until 1949. He fled to West Germany in August 1953.
